Service &
safety terms.
Private draft: the limitation-of-liability provision requires legal review before customer use. A quote request does not constitute acceptance of a service agreement.
Quotes & authorization
Bench repair quotes are free and provided within 5 days after DRS receives the equipment and required evaluation information. This is a quote timeframe, not a repair completion guarantee. Paid work begins only after approval of the scope and price. Changes to the approved scope require further authorization.
Metro Detroit field service
On-site service is available in the Metro Detroit area, subject to equipment requirements and scheduling. The service scope, site requirements, and pricing must be agreed before the visit. A free repair quote does not include a free on-site service visit. Bench repair quote timing does not determine field-service response time.
Rush service & delivery
Rush scheduling is subject to availability and additional fees, disclosed before approval. Parts and test requirements can affect completion. Arrange delivery with DRS before shipping or dropping off equipment; any shipping or transport charges are identified separately.
Equipment condition & testing
Disclose known damage, previous repair attempts, modifications, and contamination. Retain backups of programs and configuration data before service. Evaluation may uncover additional faults. Testing is limited to the accepted repair scope and available setup; repair of a unit does not certify the complete machine or installation.
High voltage & stored energy
Industrial equipment may retain hazardous electrical, mechanical, or pressure energy after disconnection. Qualified personnel must handle removal, installation, energization, and testing using manufacturer instructions and applicable energy-isolation procedures. Verify site wiring, grounding, protective devices, interlocks, and machine safety before returning equipment to service.
OSHA: control of hazardous energy ↗Refrigerant service
EPA Section 608 Universal technician certification covers Type I, Type II, and Type III equipment categories for refrigerant-handling work. It is not EPA endorsement of the business or manufacturer authorization.
EPA certification categories ↗Equipment liability
The written service agreement will define the equipment condition accepted at intake, repair scope, testing limitations, shipping responsibilities, warranty if offered, and any limitation of liability.
Proposed commercial provision for legal review: only if included in an accepted written agreement and permitted by applicable law, DRS excludes liability for indirect or consequential business losses, including lost production, lost profits, and downtime arising from repair services. No term excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
